Esbenshade 4th in Philly Open

Chris Esbenshade of Warminster's Five Ponds placed fourth and was the low Bucks County player in the 104th Philadelphia Open Championship held at Lookaway Golf Club in Buckingham.

 

Esbenshade, an amateur, posted a two-under-par 70 to trail professional Gregory Pieczynski of the Academy Golf Center by three shots in the rain-shortened 18 hole (from 36 holes) event. The local amateur carded three birdies against one bogey and 14 pars. The winner earned $8,000.

Langhorne's DeLuca claims MacKenzie

The 24th annual Jock MacKenzie Memorial Junior Tournament at Sandy Run Country Club is always a competitive affair.

 

This year saw incoming Holy Ghost Prep senior Christopher DeLuca, who plays out of Lookaway Golf Club in Buckingham Township, playing a consistent round of golf and winning the event with a sparkling 1-under 71.

Rusk scores 65, finishes 54th

Jon Rusk was near perfect in the second round of the Price Cutter Charity Championship on the Nationwide Tour.

 

The Washington Crossing native recorded a sparking seven-under-par 65 to go with an opening round 72 and made the 36-hole cut in the $600,000 event in Missouri. He closed out the week with scores of 71 and 72 for an eight-under-par 280 and finished tied for 54th.
