I called into Major League Baseball offices and let them know a ball called in yesterday's game was really a strike.

To my surprise, MLB didn't change the call.

Interestingly enough, a wrong call was made on a holding call in the Eagles game over the weekend. I e-mailed the National Football League offices and let them know, but they too didn't change the call.

I read with interest one local columnist lamenting that many of golf's big names skipped the AT&T National.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. - There is no truth to the rumor that Japan's Ai Miyazato is contemplating retirement and may soon relinquish her position atop the women's golf world rankings.

"Definitely not! A major championship is my focus right now. I'm definitely not getting ready to retire, but thank you for asking," laughed Miyazato, who will be officially named to the top spot in the world rankings today.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. --- On the morning of her professional debut Alexis Thompson prepared for her round as only a 15-year-old could: she watched the movie "Clueless."

No calls to her swing coach, no practicing her putting stroke in the living room, no strange demands of her management team.
