Zachary Herr was scheduled to make his 2010 playing debut in Texas.

The 14-year-old was scheduled to play in the 24th annual HP Boys Championship at Carlton Woods, the longest running boys invitational event on the American Junior Golf Association schedule. Unfortunately the blizzard that hit the Delaware Valley caused Herr to be grounded locally and miss the event.

A total of 78 players, from 18 states and six countries, made the field, including 16 of the top-20 in the Polo Junior Boys Rankings and 30 players who earned Rolex Junior All-America honors last year.

Herr was one of two freshmen (Class of 2013) earning berths in the prestigious field, on the basis of his win at the AJGA Northeast Classic last summer.

Past champions include Tiger Woods (1992), David Duval (1989), Jim Furyk (1987) and  Rickie Fowler (2006).

Last year Herr won the Golf Association of Philadelphia Junior Championship and his second consecutive Jericho National men's championship. He was runner-up in the Pennsylvania State Junior Championship.

Steve : Warm weather, golf
Sounds like a plan. Good luck Zach. I'm snowed in, so you will have to play well for all of us shoveling.
