Editor's note: Golf around Bucks County, including the 6th Courier Intel Open, the American Red Cross Pro-Am and an area hole-in-one.

There were many winners, both on and off the golf course, at the 6th annual Courier Intel Open.

The team of John Lowry, Ed Dreyer, Doug Thompson and Rob Weber battled and, some would say, defeated the demanding Yardley Country Club layout to the tune of a sparkling 12-under-par 60 in the scramble competition. The champions were aided by an eagle 4 on the par-5, 549-yard 7th hole.

The Golf Association of Philadelphia team in the 2010 Compher Cup matches sent a clear message to the New Jersey State Golf Association: enough is enough.

Okay, maybe it wasn't that terse a message, as the annual matches are part of a friendly, gentlemanly rivalry.

Still, last year's 13.5-4.5 loss to Team New Jersey stuck in the craw of the Pennsylvania lads as the 44th playing of the event moved from Hollywood Country Club (Deal, N.J.) to Gulph Mills in Pennsylvania.
