(Editor's Note: Cabin fever must be setting in from all the snow. The mind is definately wandering.)

Did ya see where "hot lanes" are popping up all over the place? These so called "Lexus Lanes" apparently reduce congestion on the roads but can become quite costly for drivers.

Two score at 17-million-to-one

There are golfers who play an entire career and never come close to a hole-in-one.

Good players can be shut out in the ace department, while duffers can flub a shot and somehow, someway the ball ends up in the hole for a golfer's dream shot.

The odds of a golf professional getting a hole-in-one are estimated to be 3,800-to-one. An amateur? More like 13,000-to-one. Yet the Bensalem Municipal Golf Course recently saw what has been estimated as 17-million-to-1 occur --- two players in the same foursome recorded a hole-in-one.

Inclimate weather? No problem

There's no question that golf is played in all of Mother Nature's elements. That's a fact you should consider, especially when Jolly St. Nick is preparing his sleds for the holidays and you are making a list and checking it twice.

If you need a barrier against inclimate weather on the golf course, you might ask St. Nick to consider bringing you the Sun Mountain Monsoon Jacket and Pant. The Monsoon line offers guaranteed waterproof protection in a comfortable microfiber at a reasonable cost.

Area players "boycott" PGA Tour
Written by Bob Oliver
Tuesday, 24 November 2009

The headline says it all. Area players refuse to compete on the PGA Tour! Oh, it's not like they haven't tried, but getting a PGA Tour berth has proven to be harder than even the best players can possibly imagine.

There are a number of outstanding golfers who hail from Bucks County. Yet as strong a group of players as they are, none has developed into a star at the modern upper echelon of golf.

Who is the last area player to compete in a PGA Tour event? Mike Laudien, a Bishop Egan and Trenton State graduate. Who was the last area player to regularly compete on the PGA Tour? That would be "Nobody."
